Hundreds of community organizations are included in Solidarity Program

BREAKING NEWS: Santiago.- The vice-president and coordinator of the Office of Social Policy, Rafael Alburquerque, created in the city of Santiago on Social Network Support Program Solidarity, the latter being composed of 309 community organizations in the Northeast and centre of the country.

The Social Support Network in Solidarity Program is composed by a total of 1.476 organizations (churches, associations of farmers, women’s committees at home, meetings of neighbours and social organization) Enriquillo regions, Northeast, Central and North-west countries, whose role is to contribute to the smooth functioning of the Solidarity Program.

Speaking to hundreds of representatives of various community organizations, Mr. Alburquerque said that the aim of integrating them to the government’s social policy was to ensure transparency of the actions of Solidarity Program.

You are those who must monitor, oversee the program, so that staff working for one help poor families in complete transparency.

The Department of Public Health opens primary care centres and laboratory

BREAKING NEWS: Santiago.- The Minister of Public Health (SESPAS), Bautista Rojas Gómez, inaugurated in Santiago four primary care centres, a clinical laboratory and an Office of Regional Health Service, an investment amounting to over 7.5 million pesos.

Care centres opened are located in areas of El Benegas, in Villa Gonzalez , from Cienfuegos; Mamá Tingo and Las Palomas in Licey al Medio, and were built at a cost of RD $ 4,329.474.89 pesos.

Rojas Gomez said that these openings were part of the program of development of health centres developed by the Ministry of Health to improve the service offered to the public.

During his term in the Health Region II, consisting of the provinces of Santiago, Espaillat, Puerto Plata, Minister of Health was accompanied by the Deputy Secretaries of the Collective Health and Development Networks SESPAS Nelson Rodriguez Monegro and Roberto Peguero, respectively.

Mr Rojas Gomez said that the establishment of new centres would strengthen the new health model that has already made good progress in the provinces of San Juan de la Maguana, Elías Piña, Azua, Monsignor Noel, La Vega, Sánchez Ramírez.

The Region II added the Minister has 26 hospitals with a very high level, and 145 primary care centres, thus ensuring good health services to people in different provinces.

The Customs office in Santiago will be accessible to the public

BREAKING NEWS: Santiago.- The Directorate General of Customs said that Monday the 19th the offices located in Santiago will open its doors, in order to facilitate the activities of its users and accelerate the process of clearance of goods.

According to the agency, bringing into operation of these offices is in the context of the decentralization policy which aims to facilitate trade in the Dominican Republic.

The Region of Cibao is one of the most important centre of economic activities in the country for industrial and commercial import, export and processing zones, which in future will be managed by that entity to Santiago.

The new offices of the DGA are located in downtown of Santiago in the Calle del Sol, the intersection with the Juan Pablo Duarte.

The purchase of the DGA built in Santiago had been under the management of the former director of the agency, Miguel Cocco.

These offices were opened July 30st, in the presence of the Director of the DGA, Rafael Camilo, Bugdet Minister, Vicente Bengoa, Minister of Industry and Trade, Ramón Fadul, among others.

Indian businessmen want to create a City of Knowledge in Santiago

BREAKING NEWS: Dew Delhi, India .- Businessmen of Indian industries have expressed their willingness to support the Dominican Republic for the creation of a Knowledge City City of Knowledge, in Santiago de los Caballeros, in order to increase its productive capacity in different business areas.

The information was disclosed by the Director of the Center for Export and Investment of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD) Eddy Martínez Manzueta.
We are looking more to make alliances in order to speed up the transfer of technology to this city, in cooperation with academic centers and companies from both nations, he said.

He also said that meetings had taken place with the University Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, and with contractors MGRM, Mann India, Ranbaxy, Fortis, NIIT, Apollo Hospitals, among others, who were very interested to make their technology in the Dominican Republic.

Martínez Manzueta said that the government of President Leonel Fernández made great efforts to attract investment from India in the areas of Clinical Researches, Tourism, Health, High Technology and the Technology sector of Information.

The Government asphalts streets and avenues of Santiago de los Caballeros

BREAKING NEWS: Santiago de los Caballeros, Santiago province.- With an investment of 500 million pesos, the government is working quickly on the paving of streets and avenues of the Libertad area of this city.

The work is done through teams of the Ministry of Public Works, headed by engineer Víctor Díaz Rúa.

The project also includes reconstruction of the avenue Estrella Sadhala in central zone Libertad.

The Governor of the Province of Santiago, Nidia Bisonó has valued the ambitious project of paving done by the Government in the province.

Rural areas covered by the National Plan Paving the Government in the Province of Santiago are: Monte Adentro, Brisa del Este, Los Cocos, Ranchito, Bao Villa La Carretera Puñal, Matanzas, as well as urban areas Barrio Obrero, Barrio Lindo and La Mina San Jose, among others.
