Strike of the Alternative Social Forum

Without the support of the Cibao contractors

Santiago. - The convocation of the Alternative Social Forum - FSA to a nation-wide strike -, does not generate the support of the contractors and the industrialists of Cibao.

Luís Núñez, president of the Association of the Storekeepers and Industrialists of Santiago - ACIS - expressed his opposition to the strike planned for Wednesday against the economic policy of the Government of the Party of the Dominican Liberation.

However, the commercial leader recognized the right of the population to express his aspirations for better living conditions.

Núñez declared that any collapse of social peace will be at the disadvantage of all the citizenship, and in particular of the class of the workers and employers.

He said that this strike would be a culture medium for our international competitors who can benefit from the occasion to flee the investments under the pretext that Dominican Republic is not a safe destination.

The contractor stressed that the prime movers which promote the economy, the working stations and the progress of the citizens are founded on the development of the productive sectors.

He announced that with collapse of the law and order and peace and with the attack of the private property, they will not solve the problems.

The ACIS called upon the wisdom of the organizers of the strike programmed for this Wednesday 9, so that they leave the necessary time to the Government to face the national problems.
